Hannatu Musa Musawa holds a degree in law from the University of Buckingham, UK, took a Postgraduate Masters Degree in the Legal Aspects of Marine Affairs and has obtained a Postgraduate Masters Degree in Oil and Gas Law from the University of Aberdeen, Scotland.
As a qualified Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria, she has had a varied and rich working experience and has worked as a Litigation lawyer and legal advisor to a number of private Companies, to the Federal government of Nigeria and on various election petitions.
Musawa is a human rights and women’s rights activist and maintains a department in her law firm that offers Pro Bono legal assistance and representation to women who are victims of violence and abuse, specifically young victims of rape.
From 2003, she has been active in Nigerian politics and in 2011; Hannatu Musawa contested for the Federal House of Representatives legislative seat in her home state of Katsina in Nigeria.
Her hobbies are reading the Holy Quran, writing, researching, cooking, drawing, swimming, listening to music, watching horror films and being around her family and children.
