With less than 14 days to the 2019 general election, the Director General of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Campaign Organisation in Gombe State has crosscarpeted to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Femi Adesina, spokesman to the President, made this known in a statement issued on Friday.

Adesina noted that Alhaji Bala Bello Tinka (alias Tinka Point) had a meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the State House, Abuja, on Thursday night after which he switched sides to APC.

The statement read: "Coming exactly a fortnight to the presidential election, the defection of Alhaji Tinka deals a massive blow to the PDP in Gombe. PDP currently governs the state, and has done so since 2003.

“President Muhammadu Buhari campaigns in Gombe on Saturday, and Alhaji Tinka is expected to formally join the APC, alongside others, during the event.”
