There was a mild drama at the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) today when Godsday Orubebe through his Lawyer insisted that he would not allow the court to stand down his case for the case of Senate President Bukola Saraki asking that his case must be taken before any other case.

Trouble started when the registrar of the court called the case file involving Godsday Orubebe which was earlier slated for 14th April but the court could not sit on the scheduled due to the death of the sister of the Chairman of Tribunal which made him travel to his village.

But the Chairman asked the parties in the Orubebe's case to be patience while the court takes another case which was adjourned to 10:00 am Wednesday saying as a matter of respect for the seniors counsels who are in the court.

The counsel to Orubebe, Selekewei Larry flared up and started shouting on top of his voice saying there must be a procedure in court and that he had a great respect for his seniors in the bar who are Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) sitting in the court.

In the middle of the legal tussle, the defendant, Godsday Orubebe hurriedly moved into the witness box and took his seat. The confusion lingered for almost 20minutes before the Chairman of Tribunal, Danladi Umar ordered the defence counsel. To take his sit down saying the court has the power to determine which case it will hear. He, therefore, asked the registrar to call another case and stood down Orubebe's case.  He condemned the unruly behaviour of the defence counsel.
