Crisis is currently brewing at Ogbe-Ijoh-Warri Kingdom, Warri South West Local Government Area (LGA) of Delta State following the Deputy Governor Kingsley Otuaro of Delta State allegedly imposing his crony, Mr. Couple Oromoni, as Pere (King), on the kingdom against a subsisting court order.

A strongly worded petition obtained by SaharaReporters, and signed by Alfred Yola and Sele Banni, addressed to Mr. Ifeanyi Okowa, the Delta State Governor, and copied to the Inspector General of Police and other security agencies, accused the embattled Deputy Governor of instigating crisis in the community because of his personal involvement in giving a position to his associate with flagrant disregard a subsisting court order.

Lamenting the manner in which the Deputy Governor reduced his credibility and the credibility of his office, the Kingdom warned the Governor to, as a matter of importance, call his deputy and other principal officers of his government to order regarding traditional activities especially the issues involving installation of monarchs.

"There's a subsisting court order stopping any action on installation of a traditional ruler for the community and that status quo should be maintained until November 19th, 2015 since the matter is before a court of law."

Leaders of Perebiri Quarters in Ogbe-Ijoh alleged that the Deputy Governor had sent troops of policemen and aides to Ogbe-Ijoh Warri Kingdom to cause havoc in the Kingdom in order to impose his choice of King on the people against their wish and against the court directive.

Reacting to the issue, the Senior Special Assistant on Communication and Press to the Deputy Governor, Mr. Bulou Kosin, debunked the allegations saying that "Alfred Yola and Sele Banni and their sponsors, ought to have done the responsible thing by initiating contempt proceedings in court against whoever may have defied such court order, instead of resorting to hurling unsubstantiated allegations, sentiments and blackmail at the Deputy Governor."

According to the media aide, the Deputy Governor never sent any troops or aides anywhere as alleged. Kosin added that the entire story was the figment of an imagination by mischief makers bent on tarnishing the good reputation of the Deputy Governor.

"Despite insults hurled at him, the Deputy Governor Otuaro wishes to appeal to the good people of Ogbe-Ijoh-Warri Kingdom to embrace the peace which is necessary for the enjoyment of democratic dividends under Governor Ifeanyi Okowa’s SMART agenda of prosperity for all Deltans," Bulou Kosin stated.
